For the trinkets in this stall, I currently opted for two romance genre hearts. I wanted to keep this first round focused, but in the future I’d love to expand this idea and add more genres like sports romance, fantasy, contemporary, dark romance, and beyond. This is definitely a concept I plan to grow with future projects.

A side note: The Yearning Stall was very intentionally kept focused on soft romance and love-forward vibes — the longing, tenderness, and emotional pull that make romance hit so hard. While romance and smut often live in the same books, I made the decision to reserve anything explicitly spicy for The Smut Peddler, which will be a stall solely devoted to smut.

This stall is all about fantasy-inspired pins, and you can expect to see those designs start showing up over the next few days.

I could use the first poll to decide which stall opens after Magic Menagerie — but for fun (and because we now have more backers than we did at launch), I’ve added a brand-new poll to this update. I’d love for you to vote and help decide which stall will come next.

By popular demand in the poll results, the next stall to open will be The Magic Menagerie! This stall will feature fantasy-inspired pins, pulling from magical creatures, whimsical details, and storybook vibes. If you love a little magic mixed into your reading life, this one’s for you.

A small personal note while we’re talking genres: dystopian romance is hands-down my absolute favorite romance genre, and there’s just not nearly enough of it. We’ve got plenty of contemporary, historical, fantasy, paranormal, monster, and even sentient-object romance (truly, no shade. I've read Pounded by Produce, iykyk)… but true dystopian romance feels rarer, even though dystopian fiction itself is everywhere (and honestly, you can just look out a window in the U.S. right now 🙃).

In the last six months alone, I’ve read four dystopian romances and loved every single one. If you’re a romance reader curious about the genre—or already deep in it—these are highly recommended:

While there isn’t a stall dedicated specifically to dystopian romance as a genre, there may be a dystopian-themed pin that bridges dystopian and fantasy vibes making an appearance in The Magic Menagerie. I couldn’t resist sneaking one in.

Hi everyone, and welcome! I’m so excited to have you here and so grateful you’re joining me for The Secret Night Market for Readers. This project is built around themed stalls, with each stall unlocking new enamel pin designs and tiny trinkets as stretch goals. As funding milestones are reached, more stalls will open and the market will continue to grow.

There is a TL;DR at the bottom if you want to skip the update.

The Portable Priorities Pin has just been added to The Fable Stall.

You may notice that this campaign didn’t launch with a massive collection of designs all ready to go — and I want to be transparent about that. What I can guarantee is that at least 6–10 more standard pin designs are coming, along with several new tiny trinkets. I’m also currently working on an embroidered patch keychain that will be added to the project.

Be sure to check out the poll linked in this update! You can vote on which stall you’d like to see open next. Your votes directly influence the order stalls unlock, so this is your chance to help shape the market.

Over the years, I’ve created pin collections centered on mental health and chronic illness, and I know many of you understand how life can affect creative output. My mental health was not in a great place in 2025, and while I wasn’t able to take a full break from work, due to financially reasons, it did limit the amount of time I could spend designing. The quality of my work remained exactly what you expect from me — there was just less of it ready at launch.


On top of that, I’m currently dealing with a physical health issue that will require surgery this spring. That said, I’ve had four surgeries since 2022 and have successfully planned, run, and delivered projects around them. This project will be no different.

Now that the campaign is live, I have dedicated time to focus on designing for this market. There is a lot more coming, and it will be rolling out soon. If you’re considering a higher tier because you want more pins, please feel confident knowing more designs are on the way.


I also want to say thank you to every single one of you for supporting my small business over the last eight years. You’ve allowed me to build a creative career I never thought was possible. I've had many 9–5 office jobs and they were never compatible with my ADHD or health challenges, and running this business has given me the flexibility to keep creating while taking care of myself. That freedom exists because of you.
